Features of Kirim.email
We are now inside the platform Kirim.email, and we start right here on the dashboard. And as you can see, the design is great. It’s modern, it’s easy to use and it has soft, flat colours. I really like that. Now on the dashboard here we have an overview of how we are using our credits, how we are growing our subscribers, about our broadcast and our lists.
Up here we have basically a button where we can create everything we want to. Now I just want to jump right over to the list menu point here in the list you have, of course, all of your lists that you have created or imported. Up here we can control the subscriber field. So if you want to build even more fields to the actual template there is right now you can do that in here. So what we do is just we create a new subscriber field by clicking the button, and then we choose the name and the personalisation tag.
If we want to, that’s optional. I will choose the name country and I will say it should be a text. I can also choose drop down and then add all of the countries. But for now we’ll just choose text. I will submit it and now automatically all of my subscribers now have this field that I can fill out on all of my subscribers.
Now moving on. We can also build segments and segments is great if you want to send out emails to a specific group of people, so you don’t want to send emails out to an entire list. But you want to send emails out who fit a certain segment. So let’s try and build a segment here that we can send out an email.
Now it would be great if they had event based segments, because then we could send out emails based on actions done on your website. So whether if they have bought a specific product, they have signed up for ebook or something third, but here it’s a bit more simple. Here I will choose my YouTube subscribers and then the action we need to choose here.
So we can choose whether they have opened or clicked in an email. We can choose whether they are not in the list, whether they are in the domain, whether they subscribe before a certain date, what country they are in, state, and so on. You can see all the options down here. Now I will choose country and I will say they need to be in the country Denmark, this is not possible because it hasn’t been filled out on any of the subscribers.
So let’s just change this one to say they have to be subscribed before today and that is what we’ve done here. We can add multiple conditions, but this is fine now I will just give it a name, and then I will press save up here. So it has the name all subscribers before eleven of November. And now we have our segment right now you can see that there’s one fitting in here.
It’s my segment and I can choose to send emails to this specific segment. Over here we have an import log. How it’s going with importing emails into Kirim.email, and as I haven’t imported any, it’s just empty. We do also have inactive subscribers.
And then we have migration tools within migrations tools this is also a step when it is to set up your account. But here you can migrate from a previous system that you have been using, whether it’s MailChimp or something else. This is possible within Kirim.email. Even after you have set up your account.
It can be that you forgot something or you found a new email list that you have in another system. So in here you can see that you can migrate from five different systems easily. You can also choose to use a webhook where you basically just shoot over all of your subscribers via a webhook, and then you add them to a specific list. So if I add a new webhook up here, then I say that they should be added to YouTube subscribers, they should be subscribed.
And what the webhook URL is.
So there are multiple options for importing into your system here. You can also import by CSV if you would like that. Now let’s move on to broadcasts, within broadcast is basically sending out an email here and now. So often this is newsletters. You can also schedule them.
So if I go up here, and I add a new broadcast, then you will see we have to go through three different steps. We need to choose our recipients here. So now I have chosen a name where this broadcast should come from and the list, here you can see down here we can choose segments. So the segment we chose before to create, we can actually use here, and I will choose to do that. So now this is the first step.
The second step is where we build the content, our actual email. We need to give it a subject and then we need to add some content. So I will just start by giving it a subject and now you have multiple options. You can either choose to just very simple write whatever you would like in here.
So you can see this is very simple, but you can also add images, custom fields. You can also use custom fields. If you want to use the name of the subscriber just as an example, then you can add GIFs and you can import your shop catalogue, Dropbox, WhatsApp and so on. But now they do also have an email builder. An email builder is like we know it from MailChimp where we just drag and drop the elements over.
Here we can choose to either build the design ourselves or we can choose a template to use. I will choose a template and I will choose the newsletter boxed one here. So now you can see that it says Hello full name, and then it has some titles and some text down here that I can replace with whatever I would like. I just click on the box, and then I just start typing whatever I would like to, and I can change everything I would like. I can also change the buttons here.
I can change the link of the button over here and I can add extra elements. So if I close this one down, you can see we have all of these elements over here. I can also add blocks if I want a certain way that it needs to look, I can change the body if I want to change the text colour, the background colour, the fonts. I can add images and I can upload content that I can use. Often it’s images you upload, and you use, but for now this is fine.
I will press publish, so now we have our email. Now we can choose to either A/B test so we can make an entire different email, or we can choose to maybe just tweak the subject a little bit. So I will just change the subject a little bit to not have the number just to see if it does a difference. So now we have two versions of this email, and I’ll go to the next step here where we have our preview. Here we can see email one and email two and over here we can see that it will be sent to approximately one.
We can choose to either schedule it or we can send it immediately.
And then here we choose whether we want to track how many opens and how many is clicking, and when we are done we can send out this broadcast. Now I would like to be able to do two things here. I would like to be able to choose to send it in the receiver’s time zone, and I would like to see how they’re going to distribute the AB testing. One thing I noticed in my previous product showcase is a great way of doing the A/B testing. So instead of just sending email one out to 50% and email two out to the rest of the emails, then they only send out to 25% will get email one and the other 25% will get email two and then based on how that’s performing.
The rest of the 50% will then receive the winner. So that means that 75% will actually get the best performing email. I would love to see that within Kirim.email, but this is the broadcast. So now let’s move on to autoresponders. And autoresponders was something that I was very excited to see here you can basically build an email series.
So when someone signs up for your email list, normally what we do is we go into automations and then we build an email list separated between a wait of a couple of days. Here we can do it with autoresponders. So you can see here that I have one called Educate Your Audience. Let’s dive into that by editing it so you can see on the left here we have the amount of emails being sent out and under each subject, you can see that this one will be sent out one day after the person has subscribed to the list.
This one also one day and so on this we can change.
So if I go to Educate your audience, I can choose to send this one out maybe three days after they have subscribed. And then of course, I can send a preview. But for each of these, we can change the email. And again, we have the email builder. If we want to use a template, or we just want the drag and drop functionality.
You can also write very simple content, which often actually converts better. In the settings here is where we choose what list it is focusing on. So right now it’s focused on the YouTube subscribers list. So every time someone subscribes to the YouTube subscribers list, they will get a series of emails. And this is great in order to share content.
Or if you want to upsell something to the actual subscribers. But other than that, again, we can track opens and clicks. We choose who is the sender. And then here we can see that right now it is not sending. If I enable this one, it will start to send.
But here we can add as many emails as we want to. And for each email, of course, we need to change the delay and the content and the subject. Of course, you can also have a lot of drafts if you are switching between a lot of emails. But this feature is really outstanding. It’s really great.
You can, of course, make it with automations, but this is just easier, really well done. Now let’s move on to automations. Automations is like we know it from ActiveCampaign and Encharge. We have a trigger, and then we have some actions, and then it will exit. So a trigger could be that they signed up for a specific list.
It could be that they opened a broadcast. It could be that they opened an autoresponder, for now I’ll just say subscribe to a list, and I’ll choose the YouTube subscriber list. Now, right now it just doesn’t do anything, it just exit the automation. But on the plus here we can add some actions.
So here we can choose between a response or decision. A decision is basically like an if else. If something has been fulfilled, go this way. Otherwise go this way to start with I will show you the response. So the response can be multiple things.
We can choose to either move them to another list. We can copy them to another list, or we can delete them from another list. Then we can add a tag or we can send an email. Now, if you do have set up integrations, you will be able to use them in here as well. But for now I’ll just choose send email.
I will add a subject, I will choose the centre, and then I will add some nonsense text here and then I’ll press save. What we can do is we can also add a decision. So here you can see that the decision could be multiple things. It can be at a condition where we need to wait for some days. It could be that have they opened the broadcast after one day?
The first broadcast here is save. So if they have then I don’t want to do anything. If they haven’t opened it, then I want to respond with another email. And this email could be something like, hey, I can see that you didn’t open my last email. Why is that?
Or you can just add even more information to your broadcast. So this is a great way to really increase your openings and to connect more with your subscribers. Now let’s just save this automation as a draft. We need to of course, give it a name and then let’s move on to Forms. So Forms is a very simple module.
They do have an elaboration in virals, which I’ll show you in a moment, but here we can just build forms. So here I will say this form is just called again YouTube subscribers, because that’s the list that they are going to be added to. And then I can choose to either create the form or create the landing page, so you can actually create entire landing pages within Kirim.email, and they will also be hosted on Kirim.email. Of course, this is very simple landing pages where again we use the drag and drop just as we saw with the email builder.
For now we’ll just create the form.
So here you can see that we have the form on the right side and on the left side we have the content that we actually build out. So on the right side the design, we can choose whether it should be a form, a slide or a bar. I’ll just choose form that looks best. And then here we can choose the title, the description, the favicon. If you want to use that, because now you will get a page that just consists of one form and that’s it very simple to the point.
So of course we can add titles which you can see already is their title and description. We can add a lead magnet. So this means that when they sign up for this form automatically they will get this lead magnet. It is often an ebook or freebie or something third. We can also change the confirmation where we choose the predefined confirmation email who is sending this email and a subject because here they need to confirm that we can send them emails.
Then you can also choose to change the post sign up, and this is basically when they have signed up, you want to show them a title and a message, and then you can use a custom domain if you want to host your form on your own domain. We can also choose up here whether we want to use magic opt-in standard double opt-in or just single opt-in. This really depends on the country you’re in and what the regulations are because we can also make this form GDPR compliant, and we can choose to forward the email to whatever email we would like.
In the bottom here we choose what fields we want within our form. Right now it has email as required, and then it has full name and that is great.
So as GDPR compliant, you can also add more options down here. But that is the form builder. Now let’s move on to the viral form builder because this one is really interesting. Let’s start by editing the form that I have already built as a viral form. And again, a viral form is a form meant to be shared across multiple platforms, so you can see that we start out by having our campaign details.
I have chosen a referral account and the target is 200 referrals. Then I’ve chosen the list YouTube subscribers and now let’s move on to expirations because you can choose to let your form expire. And the reason being is that if you want people to share your form a certain amount of times in order to win can be anything. Then you need to let it expire. Otherwise people can use years on doing this, and then they will come back to you later on.
So a good thumb rule is to always let it expire. I’ve chosen this one to expire 18 of November. Now let’s move on to the actual form and this is the view we just saw before. So we have over here the title, the description and our form down here. Then we have the lead magnet setting right now it’s just showing my website and then what we will show them after they have participated.
So I’m just showing a title and a finish button on the button here. Sometimes it’s showing. Sometimes it’s not right now it’s not showing. But now let’s move on to the next step, which is email confirmation and again, the email confirmation is because they need to allow me to send emails. So here I’m actually using a variable or a tag as they call it.
So I’m saying Hi name. I need you to confirm your email before we continue. Click this link to confirm your email. Here again, you can also use the email builder. If you want to use a template, or you just want to drag and drop options, I will just close it for now.
So here we can also choose whether we want to use single opt-in or we want to use the double opt-in. Again, it depends on the regulations in your country. Now let’s move on to sharing and inviting. This is the huge benefit of using viral forms because here you can choose to let people to easily share your form. Down here you can see that I have added Facebook and a Copy viral link.
We can also add Twitter where we control the message. We can use WhatsApp again where we control the message and email where we control the subject and the content. For now we’ll just go with the Facebook and the Copy viral link. You can also again use the tags, this is within the form.
So if you send out an email you can use the tags here. It could be something like Hi, I have filled out this form. Would you please fill it out so I can win X regards and then use the name here automatically. But that is just an example.
Now let’s move on to the autoresponder because this you can also use within viral forms. So in the autoresponder you can choose to send out three different types of emails. You can choose to send out an email when a participant reach the certain target, here I have just chosen you’ve done it as a subject. You’ve reached your target and then well done with a GIF here.
I can also choose what to send out to the rest of the participants. Here I have chosen to just say you’re almost there, keep on going strong and the last one is a reminder. So we can enable reminders in order to remind people to share this form so they can win the price on whatever it is. For now I’ll just disable this one. Now the last step before we publish is the landing page.
Again, you can choose to not use a landing page at all and just use the form as it is. Or you can build a landing page, and it works the same way as the email builder. So you can see I have already built a landing page you just saw before. It is not showing here. So let’s go to templates and within templates we have the free ones and the premium ones.
So in the premium ones you can see we have an ebook down here. I can view the package and then I can choose the ebook white of course I have to buy it. So let’s go back to the free one and then use a very simple one called Download Action here. So this one is very simple. If you have an ebook or another freebie, this one would be fantastic for you to use because you have a title, you have some text and image and then you have a footer down here where you can change for your social media icons or something you want to use down there.
But now one thing that is confusing me is the actual form. I do not know how I add the form in here and there’s no element over here called form and what you will see in a moment when I publish this landing page. There is no form on the landing page, so I feel like we need some help on that element, but for now let’s press save up here and then you can see we have our landing page here. There should be a form in this area here, but there is not and there is no way for me to know how to edit, but the design looks fine.
It is responsive, so that’s just great.
Now let’s move on to the last step, which is integrations. This I just want to show you briefly because they have integrations to a lot of great systems, at least the most important ones. So they have a WordPress and a WooCommerce plugin that you can use. They have an integration to Google Ads leads form. So if you’re running that type of ads, you can basically feed in your leads automatically into Kirim.email.
They do also have Google Sheets integration. If you want to use that and then they have Pabbly Connect and a lot more. Of course, with Zapier they open up for a lot of options, but these integrations are great, and it’s something that’s really increasing the value of Kirim.email.
Kirim.email pricing
Taking a look at the pricing structure of Kirim.email, it differs a lot from the alternatives. You have two plans you can choose between. The first plan is their basic plan where you get unlimited email sendings, and then you get the basic email functionality. Now, if you need SMTP and you need transactional emails, you should go with the contact plan that they have on their pricing plan here you get 35,000 credits that you can use on sending emails and validating emails. You do also get subaccounts, and you get the possibility to use their SMTP for transactional emails when it is they release that.
Alternatives to Kirim.email
The alternatives to Kirim.email is MailChimp and Encharge. Kirim.email is right up there. They have made a great product with a lot of functionality and a modern design. So when we compare those three products to each other, the design and the functionality is more or less the same. There are some elements they differ on and one huge element they differ on is speed.
Encharge
With Encharge you get a more advanced platform with event – based segments and much more. You can watch my review of Encharge.
Kirim.emails platform is not fast, so you have to really be patient when you use it. However, the functionality within Kirim.email is great with the auto responses, the automations, and the soon to be transactional emails, though Encharge is actually differing a bit on their event based segments. This means that within Encharge you can actually make segments based on events or actions. So let’s say that you integrate to WooCommerce and every time someone buys a specific product, you want to send them an email. This is not possible within Kirim.email, but it is something that’s possible within Encharge, so there are some elements you need to look at when it is you need to figure out what email marketing platform you want to go with.
Future of Kirim.email
When we dive into the future of Kirim.email, it can be quite confusing when you see the roadmap, though I have pointed out some elements that I see as interesting. Of course, they’re working on the SMTP API, so we will be able to send out transactional emails. Then they’re working on an agency module so we can start using Kirim.email within our agencies and basically paste it on to our clients. Furthermore, they are working on more extensive automations and last, but not least, they’re adding more languages so we can send emails out in different languages depending on the receiver.
Those are really interesting elements and I do hope to see them soon.
Pros & Cons using Kirim.email
Moving on to the pros and cons of Kirim.email. Starting with the pros, they have a modern design. They have integrations to the most important systems. You can easily migrate from other systems, and they have a huge help centre, whereas for the cons, it’s really slow navigating the system. They do not have event based segments and I can’t schedule broadcasts in the receiver’s time zone.
My experience using Kirim.email
I was blown away by Kirim.email. Their auto responders and viral forms are just outstanding. I do, however, hope they will focus a bit on the speed because it is concerning. Overall, I will give Kirim.email four stars. Their design is up to date.
They have an extensive library of help articles and their features are just outstanding, but yeah, that is my review of Kirim.email. I hope that you liked the video and if you did, please give it a thumbs up. If you have any questions to Kirim.email or other products you would like me to review, please leave a comment down below. Thank you so much for watching. Let’s catch up on the next one.
