Simply the best SEO plugin for WordPress | Ep. #14

Hi, my name is Phillip Stemann, and I’ll be learning you how to succeed with your website.

Today, I’m excited to share with you my favourite SEO plugin using WordPress called Rank Math SEO, you’ve probably heard about it. It’s really, really been popular lately. And today I’ll share with you features and what I like about it. Before I dive into this, I want to share a funny story with you. One of my friends is running a small webshop where he sells accessories for iPhones and smartphones and general covers and screen protectors. And he was using using Yoast SEO.

Yoast SEO is also an SEO plugin for WordPress. However, it’s not as powerful as Rank Math. So what I simply did was I changed from Yoast SEO to Rank Math SEO on his WordPress website. Before I changed to Rank Math he had approximately a couple of orders per week after we changed to Rank Math SEO. He highered his order base and had a couple of orders per day now. And the reason by this I will explain a little bit later. Of course, I cannot guarantee that you will see the same success, but you will definitely see a peak in your visitor amounts.

When we talk about Rank Math SEO, they have a ton of features, completely free. Rank Math SEO is built of modules you can turn on and off. So basically, if there is a feature you don’t want or you don’t need, then you can turn it off. This will lighten your WordPress setup and it will make it easier for you to navigate around.

Rank Math SEO

As mentioned Rank Math SEO is simply the best SEO plugin for WordPress, you can download it completely free.

The number one feature in Rank Math SEO. Is their powerful schema generator. They have a schema for almost everything you can imagine. It has for articles, for products, for videos, for even podcast. And the best thing about it is that Rank Math SEO automatically applies these schemas. If you think there isn’t a schema that matches you in the pro version, you can generate your own schema. Furthermore, still in the free version, they have an on page SEO checker. What this basically do is that it scans your entire website and checks for headings. Do you use headings correctly in the correct order?

Are you using meta descriptions? Are you using title text and all these technical aspects that you control, that Rank Math cannot control for you and then it highlights the pages for you that you need to fix. And the cool thing about this is that it’s completely free and it runs on your website. So when you have done some changes, you can basically just run it again to see if you did it correctly.

Furthermore, WordPress out of the package is very, very SEO optimised. However, there are still aspects that can be optimised and Rank Math SEO takes care of this. It automatically overall optimises your entire website to perform as good as possible on Google if you want extra features. And when I say extra features, it’s extra features like tracking keywords. You want a more powerful schema generator because you want to generate your own schemas, then you need to upgrade to their pro version. The pro version was released in the end of last year and it has had its ups and down they are back on track and my version is running stable now.

So I would definitely recommend you if you are serious about your SEO game, to upgrade to the pro version. The pro version cost 59 US dollars per year. Of course you get the powerful schema generator, but you also get the ability to track keywords. Normally you would get out and you would find a tracking keyword tool where you would pay a fairly high fee and you would enter in your keywords and they would track it for you.

Here you can actually do it within your own WordPress setup. However, they take the data from Google Search Console. So in theory, you already have this data and you can discuss whether it creates extra value or not. Last but not least, they have a sitemap feature. Again, this is generated completely, automatically. All you have to do is you have to go into your Google Search Console and submit this sitemap to Google. A sitemap is basically a way to tell Google what pages Google should crawl and what pages Google should not crawl.

And they have a, I would say, a great feature. They have the ability to submit a page to Bing for you. You may be thinking, OK, Bing, it’s not the biggest search engine. No, it’s not. But they actually have an amount of searches every day, which makes it worth it. So what did they do basically is that every time you make a change on a page or on an article, Rank Math SEO automatically submits your page to Bing for you complete automatically.

So that’s the features. Competitors ,I have mentioned Yoast SEO. If you’re using All-in-one-seo, I would still recommend you changing to Rank Math SEO as you get a more powerful schema generator. And the thing about WordPress plugins, when we’re talking about SEO, all they have to do is they need to optimise your content, your technical aspect. Rank Math SEO also has as Yoast SEO has, and All-in-one-seo has they have content optimisation.

It can be discussed how powerful this is. It definitely comes with some great tips and ways for you to optimise your content, but still remember to keep your content relevant. So to sum everything up, you get very far with the free version and the update it fairly often. So what I would recommend you to do right now is to start with the free option, it’s very easy to get set up and if you feel this is the right plug in for you, you should upgrade right away.

You will not regret it. They have customised schemas. You can track your keywords and so much more. So thank you for listening. Please leave a review wherever you are listening to this podcast. And remember, consistency is key to success. Let’s catch up on the next one.
