Using table of contents can higher your SEO rankings | Ep. #4

Hi, my name is Phillip Stemann, and I’ll be learning you how to succeed with your website.

Adding a table of contents to every single one of your blog posts will peak your rankings. Here’s why. In Google’s newest update, they focus extremely much on user experience. User experience is many different aspects. It’s whether it’s easy to use your website, whether it’s easy to find what you need, whether it’s easy to go from A to B and a lot of other metrics.

So adding a table of contents will make it easy for the visitors to find exactly what they need within a matter of seconds. Another part of Google’s newest update is that it only ranks sections and having a table of contents. It’s easy both for you and for the search robot that scans your website to see the different sections. So what you should do is you should go through your different sections and determine whether they are applicable for being ranked only that section on Google or not.

If not, then you should work on it because this is a big thing and you should definitely get in on it. I recently made an article about different social media softwares in this article, I added a ton of different softwares and in theory it was quite difficult for me in the end to find the different things. And adding a table of contents made it easy for me to keep an overview of these different things. Another positive thing about this is adding a table of contents makes it easy for you fast to see whether your structure is correct or not.

Are you using H1 one time H2, H3? I think under each other a what is happening? I have found numerous mistakes in my blog post that I fixed by adding table of contents. How you do this depends on your website. Adding table of contents can be extremely easy and extremely difficult. If you’re using medium to post your articles, it can be quite technical to do it. I might release a YouTube video showing how you can do it, but it can be technical.

If you’re using Gutenberg, there is a table of content content block that you can use and basically it renders all your title for itself. And this is the beauty of it because this makes it easy for you to see whether your structure is correct or not.

The same happens for Elementor. You basically drag and drop a table of contents element into your content and then simply just renders all your titles and it puts it under each other. And then again, it’s so easy for you to see whether you have done the structure correct or not.

The last thing is doing it manually. Manually. Of course, you can make a list and you can sit and at the different titles and you should definitely do it if you’re not using any software or program that can do it for you. Because, as mentioned, this will help you peak in your rankings on Google. And that’s what we all in for right. So I hope this has been helpful for you. And please leave a review. I’m personally working on my sound at the moment, so if you have any feedback on my sound, I would really appreciate it otherwise.

Let’s catch up on the next one.
