I used Scalenut for my own product, Planzer. The blog posts on Planzer are generated using Scalenut, and in the last 3 months, they’ve generated more than +1100 organic clicks with only 26 blog posts.
It is such an awesome tool and so simple to use, and I can’t wait to share it with you.
So let’s get into it.

- Generate articles using AI which will rank on Google.
- Use the keyword planner to create an entire topical map for your niche.

Scalenut
My Quick Take
I’ve used Scalenut for my product Planzer, which has helped me scale my content while maintaining high quality.
Their recent addition to the keyword planner module makes Scalenut a full-circle SEO tool.
What Is Scalenut?
Scalenut is a full SEO tool to help you research keywords and generate long-form content.
On top of this, you can use the AI templates to generate content for social media posts and overall just high-quality content in general.
You can use the keyword planner for both keyword research, but also to create a topical map which will result in you achieving topical authority.
The Schalenut AI uses GPT-3, but I’m getting great results when generating the content, and it works very well.
So overall, Scalenut is a content writing tool using AI to generate the text and gives you a deep content research report to help you optimise your content to rank higher in the SERP.

Scalenut Review Features
But now, for the part you’ve been waiting for, and frankly, the SEO features within Scalenut AI, you’re in for a treat because they’re awesome.
I’ve primarily used the cruise mode to generate articles, but the other modules work very well.
Let’s get into it.
Article Writer: AI-Generated SEO-Optimised Article
This is the module I’ve used the most, and it’s changed a lot during the time I’ve been using Scalenut as my article generator and content editor for Planzer.
But it’s super easy to use and gives you a great starting point. All it starts with is a keyword; you can enter multiple keywords for an article if you wish. I usually just enter 1 keyword.
So I’ll run a real experiment while writing this article, and I used the keyword planner on the keyword task management and found the following search phrase: personal task management.
So let’s try and generate an article for this keyword, but what I usually do before so is search for the query on Google to see the searcher’s intent so I know in what direction to take the article.
And the intent is that people want to see a list of the best personal task management applications, so let’s go with that.
Once your report is ready, you need to go through a 5-step process before your article is ready and generated, where you can then edit it using the content editor.
The 5 steps are:
- Context (What is your article about)
- Title
- Outline
- Writing Points (Guide the AI on what to write about)
- First Draft (Using the content editor)
It’s super important in the context step that you describe your article as precisely as possible. The better you describe it, the better the content grade and the better article you’ll end up with.
For individual creators, it might take some practice at first, but once you nail it and write the perfect context for your primary keyword, you’ll end up getting much better long-form blog posts.
You can see on the image how I described it, and you can even choose your tone of voice.
And this is one of those key features that make Scalenut great. You can add a URL from your website and then let Scalenut’s writing assistant learn from the URL to write in the tone of voice you usually write in.
For the context, be descriptive, and the more detailed you want your blog post, the more context you need to write. You can write up to 500 characters to guide the AI for content generation.
Next up, you need to choose a title for your blog post, and here there are 2 ways.
You can choose one of the AI-generated titles or get inspired by the top-ranking results’ titles.
I rarely use AI-generated titles without changing them. I often start with one of the generated titles and then mix it up with inspiration from the SERP.
Doing this is how I’ve achieved the best results.
And now it’s time for the outline, and Scalenut has one of the best tools to generate outlines and let me tell you why.
The thing is that often it generates a ton of headings, and some of them are good, but in this case, a lot was off.
So the best way to use it is to keep what you want and then manually add and remove the headings, so you end up with a mix of your own headings and AI-generated headings.
On the right, you can see the top-ranking results’ outlines.
It’s an awesome view, and it works very well.
The writing points step is the last step before we get to the content editor.
This one I rarely change much. Often, it nails the text.
But this is your chance to guide the content writer to write amazing content with the right subjects within your headings.
I will always recommend you read through the writing points before moving on to the content creation step.
Often it’s great, but as a rule of thumb, read it through and remove/add points if you feel something is missing or off.
And then, we have the last step, the first draft.
The content generation part is done, and it’s often super fast.
This is just an overview of everything we’ve been through in the different steps. If something is off, you can always return to the previous steps to make changes and ensure high content quality.
And from here, you can export it to the editor to ensure your SEO optimization is on top.
Content Optimiser: SEO-Optimise Your Current Content
The content optimiser is awesome, and you still have your AI copywriting tools if you want to generate more content.
On the left, you have your content, and on the right, you have an overview of:
- The optimise tab with your SEO score and recommendations.
- A brief containing your outline, images, word count and headings.
- The research tab contains important NLP keywords, competition, questions and more.
- AI Templates if you want to create specific short-form content like a product description.
Overall then, I like the content. My issue is that the paragraphs are too long, with no lists or bolded words.
Another thing is that it should go for a word count between 2800-3200 in my test, but it “only” generated 1770 words, which is strange since they know what word count I should target.
So while the content is great, the readability score is not high for this long-form SEO content generated by Scalenut.
That said, I really like the sidebar containing research and SEO recommendations.
If you’re not following best practices within the SEO recommendations, you can often fix it with a click on a button, and then AI fix it.
So overall, this editor is perfect for helping you optimise your content for relevant keywords, and I recommend you make the paragraphs shorter to make the blog post easier to read.
Keyword Planner: Achieve Topical Authority With This Module
The keyword planner is an awesome tool for building keyword clusters for your seed keyword.
Before you start generating SEO articles, it’s important you lay your groundwork.
Use the keyword planner, which is a powerful tool, to ensure you create an entire topical map with your target keywords.
But what is a keyword planner, actually?
A keyword planner is a type of content marketing strategy where you enter your seed keyword. If you’re writing about kitchen appliances, for example, kitchen appliances would be your seed keyword.
And in return, you get an entire topical map of related keywords, keyword clusters and much more.
This topical map you need to use to ensure you cover all topics within your niche, and when you do so, you achieve topical authority.
Pro-tip: Start with one topic cluster and finish it before you move on to the next cluster.
You want to achieve topical authority within one cluster before you move on to your next. Otherwise, you confuse Google, and your efforts are not rewarded in the same way.
I tested it with the seed keyword WordPress, and you can see some of the results in the image.
In total, I got 87 keyword clusters, which is awesome because now I have my content strategy, where I can start with one cluster and move on to the next.
However, you need to use common sense as well because some of the clusters can often be combined, or it doesn’t even make sense to pursue them.
So it’s like having an SEO assistant where you get a draft, and you need to finalise it.
Based on my testing, I found that it’s an awesome way to get a starting point and work from there. I think it’s a great tool and an easy user interface, which is also super important.
AI Copywriter Templates: Trained AI Templates
I counted 52 AI templates, and AI templates are tools trained to do one specific thing, which is to generate a specific type of content.
This was the way we generated content when GPT-3 was released back in the day, but many AI tools have replaced these smaller tools with a chat you can chat with, and that works as a fantastic tool as well.
The difference, however, between using an AI chat and using specific tools for a use case is that you often get better results with the smaller tools for any type of content.
But then, yet again, using a chat streamlines the process more as you stay in one place to get all types of content, from SEO-friendly content to a social media post.
So, in the end, it’s up to you. These trained AI templates are a gem if you prefer a better output and can live with the workflow. Otherwise, you can always use ChatGPT.
Scalenut SEO Chrome Extension
Scalenut has a Chrome extension, and as you can see on the reviews, it gets full 5-starts.
I tried it out, and it works well, and the best part is that the Chrome extension works on almost any website.
A use case could be you’re writing an email, but you feel your text needs some enrichment. You can use the Chrome extension for this.
Or, if you’re on a blank page and unsure what to write, you can use the Chrome extension.
The Chrome extension doesn’t give you the ability to create SEO articles, but you can use it for product descriptions and social media content.
You get Scalenut’s AI in the Chrome extension with all their AI templates.
Alternatives To Scalenut
Scalenut is one of my favourite AI tools, and it works perfectly for the content I write for Planzer, but there are definitely alternatives, and here are 3.
Surfer SEO
Surfer SEO has long been one of the leading products within SEO content optimisation.
It’s also a great product; you can write great content with their content optimisation module.
They also have a keyword research module and many more modules than Scalenut.
I’ll say Surfer SEO is a more complete SEO tool than Scalenut at the moment.
Frase
Frase is my go-to content editor; I even used it to write this article you’re reading now.
Frase has many of the same elements as Scalenut, but Scalenut is better for keyword research.
However, I will say Frase’s content optimisation module is a bit better than Scalenut’s.
MarketMuse
MarketMyse is a high-end content tool for content optimisation and keyword research.
They don’t have a keyword planner, but they do have a thorough keyword research module.
On top of this, they have one of the best SEO content optimisation modules.
Who Is Scalenut Made For?
Scalenut’s AI is made for content creators and content generators, if that’s a thing nowadays.
Their entire cruise mode flow makes it so easy to generate great article drafts for you to go through and add your own experience to for publishing.
Scalenut is also made for social media marketers who need small AI tools trained for specific purposes.
A purpose could be a social media post on Twitter or a summary generator for LinkedIn.
Lastly, Scalenut is also made for email marketing, where you can use AI-powered templates to generate subjects or even full emails.
So Scalenut has many use cases. My favourite is using the content writing tool to generate long-form content.
Wrap-Up: Is Scalenut Worth It?
Yes, Scalenut is worth it.
I’ve managed to grow my website Planzer organically with articles generated in Scalenut to rank well in the search engines.
I see the articles to better and better over time, so it’s definitely working, and it makes sense why.
The entire flow is made so streamlined, and Scalenut AI is really made to generate blog posts with a high SEO score.
So overall, I’ll recommend you try Scalenut and see how it works for your content. I’m sure it’ll help you scale up your content production while keeping high-quality content standards.
